I shared with them the story of my life & challenged them that whatever they do now will determine what they'll be in future. When I look at young boys & girls who are lucky to be in school, I see myself years back & am always glad that I now go back to share a success story....
I reminded them that it is okay to enjoy their youth for as long as they do not confuse enjoying their youth with destroying their future for everything they do now must reflect the kind of people that they'll become.
Let's also have a genuine conversation on government expenditure. Fancy cars, escorts, allowances, and all manner of perks that increase the burden on us. We will not stop chatting on social media until our voices are heard.
Between 2009 and 2015, Uganda National Roads Authority was allocated UGX9,000,000,000,000 to construct 5,147 Km of roads, more than UGX4,000,000,000,000 was lost through corruption and insider deals, As a result only 1,500 Km out of 5,147 Km of roads were constructed. 🍌🍌🍌
Don't even get me started on the Land Fund! The revelations on compensations via @LandInquiry2017 are sickening. How much have we lost? Before UNRA was cleaned up, how much had we lost? We are spending billions on inquiries into stolen funds!
The cheapest Total/Shell fuel stations that used to sell a Litre of petrol at UGX3,900 are now selling it at UGX4,010, others are selling at UGX4,230. 1 Dollar = UGX3,880 Transport fares have also increased, Uganda might reach middle income status earlier than expected.
