If officials have yet to announce or confirm something…there’s generally a good reason. It’s to notify family members of a tremendous loss. Give them that dignity. There’s no need to be first. Especially with incomplete information.

So listened to all of what Denny Hamlin had to say - articulate, heartfelt and understandable - but let’s all dial down a few clicks about him not coming back to race next year
Denny Hamlin said he plans to race next year (he is signed through 2027) but he said he is going to need some time to get over Sunday and he's not ready to get in a race car right now.
If it's any solace, he did end saying "I'll get over it, it's just gonna take a minute"
Asked about coming back next year, Hamlin says: "I plan to, I have a contract to, but at this point, there's just absolutely no way that I would even... I don't even think about race car, right now. Yeah, I'm going to need some time on this one." #NASCAR
Remember when Davey Allison was 75 laps away from the championship and a lapped car spun and took him out? After a massive crash on lap one almost took him out and damaged his car? Sometimes, despite doing all the right things, it's just not meant to be.

Love finished with one less top-10 than Zilisch and also had the second-best average finish. I think he - like Allgaier - was overshadowed by CZ’s historic run. Still a deserving champion, imo. 🤷🏻♂️
This probably will fall on deaf ears, but I really hope people don't attack Jesse Love if he finishes this off. Don't hate the player, hate the game. He showed up and executed in the championship race under the same rules as everyone else. Let him enjoy it.
