I am not ashamed of the gospel... However, I am ashamed at my lack of proclaiming the gospel, knowing its power & life-changing truth. I am ashamed at my lack of boldness in sharing the confrontational message of the Cross. I am ashamed at my lack of compassion for the lost!
Wait… what’s the difference between Kim Kardashian posting a photo in her bra and underwear vs you or me posting a picture in our bikini’s on the beach or by the pool? 🐸☕️
Questions to prepare for worship: 1. Is my heart severed from the world? 2. Is my mind free from distraction? 3. Is my soul hungry for Scripture? 4. Is my life humbled before God? 5. Is my sin properly confessed? 6. Is my joy fixed upon Christ?
Either Scripture will be the lens through which you view the world, or the world will be the lens through which you view Scripture. Ultimately one or the other will be your authority.
If you’re not being sanctified, you might not be saved. I don’t say that to scare you, but to warn and encourage you. Sanctification is promised after salvation, and God keeps His promises. If your life after Christ looks the same as before Him, you may not know Him. But you can.
the whole, “do whatever the heck I want during the week and “worship” God on Sunday morning” thing isn’t real Christianity. it’s a lukewarm, double-minded, fake lifestyle that God hates.
No one learns from Twitter arguments, especially ones full of condescension. If we actually want to educate, it should be from love. Going off on people achieves very little.
Easter hits different when you understand the Gospel
Friends. I don’t deserve Him. You don’t deserve Him. That is why the gospel is like sweet honey to a sour lump of dirt like me. Because He chose to come. He chose me when he knew I wouldn’t choose Him. & for that, I am humbled and brought to tears constantly because of His love!
when I remind myself of the gospel, I remember why I was put on this earth. not to make money. not to look pretty. not to make people impressed with me. not to have skills and talents. not to be noticed. But to give God glory. To further His kingdom. To love His children.
FORGIVE THEM FATHER, FOR THEY DO NOT KNOW!
I’ve heard many justify they’ll go to Heaven because they’re a good person. I’m sure you have good intentions, but let’s think about this... GOD is good. Therefore, He is the standard of good. Our good can’t earn us salvation because it pales in comparison. We need JESUS!
When you get to heaven’s gate, it’s not going to matter if you were a size 2 or a size 12. did you know Jesus? & did He know you?
The greatest injustice in our world is sin.
There are times when we really don’t feel like submitting to what God has said in His Word. It’s in those moments that we get to truly live out what it means to deny self, choosing His will over our own!
Imagine if we lived in a world where people put just as much trust & hope in Jesus as they do a vaccine.
“One of the Old Testament’s greatest values is its rich revelation of God’s character.” R. C. Sproul
Just because a sin is normalized in society doesn’t mean God changed his mind on if it’s a sin or not.
On Christ the solid rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand.
