The security staff at the courthouse told me to “put your phone in the bushes outside” when I dared to travel there without a single occupancy vehicle.
Learned the hard way that the John Marshall Courthouse no longer has lockers out front, despite @CityRichmondVA's website saying they do. The deputy told me to "put it in my car" but guess what? I rode the bus! You know what often happens in this scenario? People miss court!

First we find that heat-related illness responses are not distributed evenly across Richmond’s population - residents who are male, Black, and 50+ are disproportionately represented in the data, with additional associations with mental health issues and homelessness. 2/

It’s been 6 years since Marcus-David Peters was needlessly shot and killed by police. Marcus was unarmed, undressed and suffering a mental health crisis. Virginia still has yet to enact any measure to ensure people are safe from law enforcement when in crisis. #helpnotdeath
Two drivers are responsible for killing a pedestrian who was standing ON THE SIDEWALK and yet the drivers broke no laws? Richmond’s delegation must do whatever they can to update our criminal code next session to ensure drivers like this face criminal consequences.

I’d like clarity on state police, vcu pd, and local pd coordination, planning, and actions. All three were on scene (and may be again)- who made the call to use tear gas? Who decided on riot gear? Which leaders directed this course of action?
Sad to see the @RichmondPolice Department learned nothing from 2020 and the subsequent civil rights lawsuits, including the 1A suit brought by reporters and citizen journalists.

Richmond, VA has speed cameras at 2 elementary schools. In the first month, they're cranking out 176 speeding tickets a day. Cameras are only active during the mornings & afternoons on school days, and they're only snagging people going 11+ over the speed limit.

It really breaks my heart to hear from residents who don’t want us to support a regional shelter. Like unhoused persons don’t exist in Henrico. They do!Many of us are one paycheck or situation from tough times. I am thankful I serve with a group that cares about the unhoused.

Drilled down a little into Roday's $100+ fundraising numbers..... $160K is coming from donors who live in NY while $112K is coming from donors living in VA. With donors from 18 states, he has more individual donors from VA than NY but only 29 (~18%) are coming from Richmond. 🧜♀️
