Mount Disappointment

@MountDisappoint

Popular Recreational Park and 5,963 ft tall Peak for Radio Transmitters in Southern California. East of Pasadena, CA, United States.

Chernobyl was a nuclear reactor that melted down. Chernobyl was not a mountain or volcano. You people disappoint me!

I am immortal. I am not a Democrat, I am not a Republican, or any other of your puny human fashionable facades. IYAM what IYAM.

WARNING: I Do Not ‘splode or Anything like That!

I have a small army of wild rabbits that keep the loonies off of my peak.

Mountain Pickup Line #108 “Get on top, I’m lots of fun!”

Officially, I am not a volcano, but I do erupt radio waves. HAM operators’ favorite peak to put their antennas.

Volcanologist Dr. Brad Pitcher explains how the volcanic explosion in Japan happened and why these eruptions give NO WARNING:

Japanese volcano had a "phreatic explosion." When groundwater seeps down & interacts with superheated rock, it flashes to steam, expands, and explodes. This occurs w/o movement of magma, and is thus impossible to predict. This is always a potential danger with cascade volcanoes!

No one's too old or dumb for university. It's really nice that you are interested in geology! Have you watched any of @GeologyNick 's lectures on Youtube?
