Remember our purpose. We serve the students. Not just the physical one in front of us today, but the social, emotional, and intellectual one fifteen years from now.
Life is all about second chances and that needs to include affording students the opportunity to retake a test from time to time. It’s a great way to establish trust with your students as well as placing greater emphasis on the acquisition of new knowledge and skills.
A More Efficient and Productive Way to Conduct Math Assessments edutopia.org/article/assess… For several years I have been advocating for the less is more" approach to mathematics at the elementary level. This article is a great illustration of this. Happy Teaching!
Take Care of Yourself. Don't forget to take care of yourself during this busy time. Make sure to prioritize self-care activities and manage your stress levels so you can finish the school year strong. You got this!
Just hanging with a few friends to support our amazing Peter Muschal PTA & the Apex Challenge.
Apex Update- Medal Winner - Ms. Reeder We have reached the 1st VP/School Challenge - Assistant Principal will wear a Costume for a day. Wonder what he will be? Apex Challenge Winner - Most Login's - Coach Vergantino's Class with 60% login and they will get to Pie the Apex Team.
Want more engagement and growth from your students? Give this a try- use more-frequent, low-stakes, formative assessments throughout a unit to gauge understanding and fix learning problems in real time.
Be Present We have busy lives, and our minds are often racing toward the next thing that has to get done (this is something I am frequently guilty of). Make the person in front of you (student, parent, or staff) at that very moment, the only priority.
Great teachers reflect/re-access. Try writing a new teacher philosophy at the midpoint of each year. It helps to internalize the highs, lows, & challenges of your year & realign your priorities according to the evolving needs of your students. Happy Teaching!
Please considering supporting this extremely important cause. Ayden has a joy and spirit like no other. Many thanks to the Bordentown Township and Bordentown City Police Departments for championing this cause.
PMES was so fortunate to be visited during our Week of Respect by Stone Hands and his message about being a H.E.R.O. couldn’t have meshed better with our PBSIS initiative. Thank you to our amazing PTA for making this event happen. @omegamanschools
Great read & reminder as we gear up for the school year! Why I Keep Teaching edutopia.org/article/why-i-…
It’s not always the kid that fails school, sometimes it’s the school that fails the kids. We all have our own path. We all find our inspiration from a different corner of the room. As we start to plan our year, try to remember that.
Please see attached Go Fund Me for a 4th grade student at PMES. We can always count on Ayden for a bright smile and back-cracking hug every day. If you can help in any way, it would be appreciated. Please keep Ayden and his family in your prayers. gofundme.com/f/quality-of-l…

Today as we were dismissing school, a student yelled out, “Bye Mr. Pascal, I love you.” And that is why we in education, do what we do. To make a difference, even if it’s only one child at a time. So happy to have found a place where I can be part of this mission. BRSD.
Ms. Benson and our amazing chorus performing at Trenton Thunder tonight. They were so good!
Ms. Albanese’s class is all about the March Madness and we can’t wait to learn which book will become the tournament champion!
1 of the phrases, I love to hear as an admin, & one I frequently used as a teacher was “intellectual risk-taking”. In order for students to become risk-takers, we have to be willing to share our own struggles as students. Be sure 2+ "Thank you for trying something new!"
Ms. Benson's music students had a chance to Zoom with composer Tom Shelton, to discuss their performance of his original piece "Animal Imagination". Another example of the rich learning experiences that happen here at PMES.
