Here’s a Roblox/Minecraft perspective of one of my student’s finalized surf shops. Probably my favorite project I have students create every year. @OPSchoolsNJ @MaplePlaceMS @KeiserMelissa @GMartinez_OP

Students have begun to put their final touches on their #surfshop projects. #mapleplace turns to #malibu in just a few short days. @OPSchoolsNJ @KeiserMelissa @MaplePlaceMS @GMartinez_OP @laurmalaney

With us closing in on our final days of the “My Surf Shop” project, we had the pleasure of hearing from Prof. Charles Mencel of Mencel Surfboards. The students had some great questions that aligned with our project. 🏄🏼‍♀️🏄🏼🌊 @KeiserMelissa @GMartinez_OP @laurmalaney @MaplePlaceMS

Day 2 of our My Surf Shop project involved students learning about #surfboard shapes and taking inventory based off of supply/demand from fellow classmates. Day 1 had students plan their space to get their permit from the city (aka Mr. Small aka the Big Kahuna) @OPSchoolsNJ 🏄🏼🏄🏼‍♀️

A big thank you to @laurmalaney for having the therapy dogs come to our class. The students had an opportunity to teach the dogs unit rates. The dogs got to see how……RUFF….math can be 🐶 @OPSchoolsNJ @KeiserMelissa

Sometimes the quiet students are the ones just waiting to show the world their hidden talents. Blown away at this girl’s voice. And no one knew. I may have gotten a lil misty eyed.

Students were introduced the concepts of independent vs dependent variables. Then they broke into groups to sort real life/science applications @OPSchoolsNJ @KeiserMelissa @MaplePlaceMS

Students were introduced to finding GCF and LCM using task cards. Once they were done they were given black lights to check their answers. No students were “left in the dark” in this activity. @OPSchoolsNJ
