Day 2 of our My Surf Shop project involved students learning about #surfboard shapes and taking inventory based off of supply/demand from fellow classmates. Day 1 had students plan their space to get their permit from the city (aka Mr. Small aka the Big Kahuna) @OPSchoolsNJ 🏄🏼🏄🏼♀️

A big thank you to @laurmalaney for having the therapy dogs come to our class. The students had an opportunity to teach the dogs unit rates. The dogs got to see how……RUFF….math can be 🐶 @OPSchoolsNJ @KeiserMelissa
Sometimes the quiet students are the ones just waiting to show the world their hidden talents. Blown away at this girl’s voice. And no one knew. I may have gotten a lil misty eyed.
Students were introduced the concepts of independent vs dependent variables. Then they broke into groups to sort real life/science applications @OPSchoolsNJ @KeiserMelissa @MaplePlaceMS
Students were introduced to finding GCF and LCM using task cards. Once they were done they were given black lights to check their answers. No students were “left in the dark” in this activity. @OPSchoolsNJ
6th graders were able to differentiate between their multiplication vs division of fraction skills with this Battleship game. @OPSchoolsNJ @MaplePlaceMS
