No truer words. Social clout has significantly devalued being good at your job.
Social media has made people feel like they need self-branding. Or that you NEED to sit on panels, do interviews, grow your social presence. And about 95% of the successful people I know in the industry do none of that. They’re just people who are good at their jobs.
