Does anyone recognise this house? At a guess, probably built c.1820 somewhere in the limestone belt across central England. Plate glass windows either side of the porch a later alteration, perhaps to provide light for a serious plantsman. No clues to location.
In the 1760s Rowland Holt commissioned #CapabilityBrown to redesign both the house & park at #Redgrave #Diss on the #Suffolk #Norfolk border. Brown tried (unsuccessfully) to persuade Holt to build flanking wings on house. bit.ly/2MuHp09.

The antique mantels are dressed for Christmas including this C18th Palladian statuary marble fireplace with full rounded siena marble columns, after an original model by Sir Henry Cheere with the central tablet depicting Aesop’s ‘The Three Foxes Fable bit.ly/2zL7zDC

The beautiful detail of a doorcase in the Eating Parlour of Headfort House in Kells, Co. Meath. Headfort is the only example of Adam's country house work to survive in Ireland as his previous work at Castle Upton in County Antrim was lost.
