The #ICJ exonerated @UNRWA & rejected Israel's baseless claims of Hamas involvement. The ICJ demanded #UNRWA gets to work in Gaza to mitigate the impact of genocide. UN member states must apply sanctions (economic, military, diplomatic) if Israel refuses to comply.
Thank you. Yes, we hope the Turkish authorities will soon open a trial in absentia against Myanmar's genocidal junta.
Evidence of two #Myanmar army massacres lands in Istanbul: Pazigyi (157 civilians, 19 children) & Buthidaung (18 Rohingya killed, villages razed). @NUGMyanmar & @MyanmarAProject urge Turkey to hold Myanmar’s junta to account. onedrive.live.com/personal/9faa4…
From your lips to the ears of God. Let us hope the Turkish Justice Ministry opens a trial against Myanmar's genocidal junta, killing defenseless Muslims every day.
We believe in Turkey's judiciary system is independent & it has rights to jurisdictions against criminals,Yes no impunity culture for criminals who're responsible for committed atrocities, massacre, war crime, crime against humanity & act of genocide against Rohingya & Myanmar PPL
We had an excellent meeting and are hoping that Turkey will move from an open investigation to a trial in absentia of the Myanmar junta, which is committing genocide against a defenseless Muslim population.
MAP is bringing a case in Turkey in June against #MinAungHlaing for the attacks after the earthquake & other crimes. We have been working on evidence collection with superb local partners, building accountability capacity as a modest contribution to bottom-up federal democracy.
The #Myanmar #Burma junta didn’t stop attacks on civilians after the #Sagaing Quake. During 28 Mar-14 Apr,the illegal junta launched 189 air & artillery strikes on civilians - 127 after their "ceasefire". These attacks killed 134 civilians. Prosecute #MinAungHlaing
Outsourcing ASEAN’s Myanmar policy to a private individual is a dangerous betrayal — it sidelines the people’s struggle, legitimizes a murderous junta, and turns diplomacy into a backroom business deal. Do not reward the junta for killing #NoBackroomDeal #WhatsHappeninglnMyanmar
The air strikes are “a cruel and calculated attempt by a desperate regime to reassert control by terrorizing an already devastated population,” said a statement from the Chin Human Rights Organization(CHRO). ucanews.com/news/myanmar-j…

The junta offensive is seen as an attempt to regain control over areas it lost to rebel forces

Shamsed, this is so kind and so greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Happy Thingyan🌼🏵🌻 We extend our warmest wishes for a joyful Thingyan to our residents and their families nationwide as they celebrate the Myanmar New Year!
The fact that the EU Ambassador thinks transparency is detrimental tells us everything. If you’re flinging aid into junta hands, bypassing communities, and calling that humanitarian—you’re not neutral. You’re an accomplice. #StopWeaponizingAid #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar
Agreed. It's also about the UN's amateurish comms strategy. I was on Al Jazeera shortly after the quake & before me was an official from @WFP boasting about their food distributions in Nay Pyi Daw. It seems the only audience the @UNinMyanmar cares about is the junta.
Yes. The UN is in a tough spot when it has to deliver aid in junta-controlled areas, but at a minimum they should be fully transparent about how much aid is going where and what restrictions they are facing.
You are absolutely right if I'm talking about flinging aid into a country with no transparency, accountability, consultation with local communities or regard for humanitarian principles - and in a way that undermines democratic governance.
You know that that would be detrimental to the purpose you are advocating right?
The @WFP @WFPChief @WFP_Media office is in Nay Pyi Raw, junta capital of Myanmar, where they announced they are distributing food. Will the @UNinMyanmar come clean about how much they are doing in junta versus non-junta areas? And who benefits from the rent that the UN is paying?
The video is already circulating in the Hague. The arrogance of the occupying power in flaunting its genocide against the protected population is a godsend for those promoting justice & accountability.
Of course, it was aired by Israeli public broadcast corporation in November 2023 x.com/intifada/statu…

🚨WATCH: Israeli children sing, "We will annihilate everyone" in Gaza, against a background of destruction. Disturbing video was posted, then deleted by Israeli national broadcaster @kann_news. We captured it and added English subtitles FULL STORY: electronicintifada.net/blogs/ali-abun…
Has this video been authenticated? If so, it is strong evidence of genocidal intent which could be used at the International Court of Justice, @CIJ_ICJ, in the case against Israel for genocide. #IsraeliGenocide
Israeli children composed and sang a song about the annihilation of Gaza, advocating for killing everyone there and occupying it. Their indoctrination begins at a young age, and their society sees no issue with them singing this.
#TheMyanmarAccountabilityProject congratulates the Philippines authorities for arresting Duterte & sending him to the Hague. We salute President Marcos' leadership in this move & look to his administration to take further steps towards accountability for international crimes RT
Dear @Keir_Starmer, while the rich global north reduces aid to the most disadvantaged on the planet, why is there no serious debate about cutting off financial & military support for Israel, in compliance with the International Court of Justice?
All nations who believe in the international rule of law must support these cases. And we thank the #IIMM for their continued engagement. Plaudits also to @ChinHumanRights for their unending/robust defense of human rights & accountability.
“[ICC Prosecutor]Khan’s move will reinforce the case for justice in litigations against the junta being brought in Turkey, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Argentina, which are complementary to the ICC” — @MyanmarAProject thediplomat.com/2024/11/the-ti…
MAP fully endorses the call for all UN members states to cooperate with the Argentinian arrest warrants against top leaders of the ousted/former government. Aung San Suu Kyi must be freed so that she can travel to Argentina to defend herself against genocide charges.
