I am really excited to share our lab's first paper, published this week! We wrote a review about the most recent advances in motor and sensory recovery using spinal cord stimulation (SCS)⚡️ This includes implanted & transcutaneous SCS #newPI #proudPI sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
@NS_Card wins “most research themed” for his NeuroPort, though Hamza dressed as @DrDavidBrandman was amazing.
Are you at @BMESociety? If so, check out NERVES Lab student Chimdi Ihediwa's poster Friday morning at 10AM! ✨️Image Processing of X-rays of the Lumbar Spine and Spinal Cord Stimulation Implants ✨️ Be amazed at our undergraduate student talent!🧠🦾🦿👩🏿💻 @BlackInNeuro
The academic job market is a walk in the park The park:
Last night the NERVES Lab got together for a games night! We had too much fun and forgot to take photos. We did take some of this charcuterie spread, though. Can you spot it?
Our students are so fire 🔥, they have the same shoes! Slay!
The NERVES Lab had 3 students apply for the GRFP this cycle! To say that we are exhausted would be an understatement. But we're really proud of the proposals that we submitted. Now, it's time to sleep
The NERVES Lab had a great showing at the Utah BME Conference! One of our undergraduate students, Chimdi Ihediwa, won 3rd place for her poster and 1 minute pitch! We are so proud!! 👏
Today, we got to meet the adorable Rose 🌹! She nuzzled right up to us as Mom and Research Associate Kylee read us Neural Networks for Babies #NewLabMember
Introducing our new paper, officially out in J Neural Engineering: iopscience.iop.org/article/10.108… The Phantom Menace:“A preliminary study exploring the effects of transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation on spinal excitability and phantom limb pain in people with a transtibial amputation”
NERVES Lab member Chimdi Ihediwa is presenting her work at the Undergraduate Research Symposium today! She's working to develop a method to automatically detect spinal vertebrae and SCS electrodes from fluoroscopy images 🩻 Funded by UROP @UtahBME
Check out our new paper led by @_jting! This is the outcome of her becoming interested in pain and DRG stimulation⚡️ mechanisms, and designing a study for her thesis to look at sensory fiber recruitment with DRG stim🐁
We are pleased & proud to share our latest paper, “Tonic stimulation of dorsal root ganglion results in progressive decline in recruitment of Aα/β-fibers in rats” by @_jting , Charli Hooper, & @dr_shlee, published today in @JNeuromod. @NeuroMechLabX @cmuneurosci @CMU_Mech
