The Cody Book Fair is in full swing! Stop on by and pick up some good reads for your weekend! #BookFair #Scholastic 📚
We had such a wonderful time at our Tiny Tales for Tots storytime! Our little ones enjoyed sweet fall stories and fun activities to celebrate the season. 🍁
Join us for some storytime FUN! Open for parents of littles not enrolled in school yet.
4th & 5th are practicing their SCRs w/ @News_O_Matic 🤩 After learning that axolotls can regenerate, they’re tackling the prompt: How would life be different if humans could regenerate? That’s the power of reading & thinking in action!
5th graders explored poetry with the book Yuck, You Suck! Poems About Animals That Sip, Slurp, Suck and a hands on activity using straws to connect text to experience. #PoetryInAction 📖
Our students were hooked by the true story of Inky the Octopus, an incredible real life escape artist! They loved discovering how nonfiction can be just as thrilling as fiction, and now they’re eager to dive into more narrative nonfiction reads.
What time is it? It’s Principal’s Book Club time! We’re kicking off our school-wide Book of the Month with I’m Sorry You Got Mad by Kyle Lukoff. This thoughtful story is perfect for practicing inferences, making connections, and diving into the writing process together! 📚
Thank you Cody families for volunteering to read to students for National Read a Book Day! We hope you had FUN! #ReadingCommunity #ReadingIsFun #ReadEveryDay
Celebrating Grandparents Day at Cody Elementary by snuggling up with good books. Grandparents & books, Abuelitos y libritos = memories made with love. ❤️📖
Our 4th & 5th graders tuned in to author Minh Lê (writer of Lift) as he shared his best tips for the writing process on @BookBreak4Schls . Students are excited to take what they learned & apply it to their personal narratives. We can’t wait to see their stories take flight! 🚀
Got mine! 🥪 Huge thanks to @jerseymikes for partnering with Ed Cody Elementary. Today they’re donating 20% of proceeds back to Cody so skip the stove and grab a sub for dinner. It’s way too hot to cook anyway! #SupportOurSchool #FundraiserNight
Trying something new! I’m excited to share the books we read in the library and how they connect with the curriculum. @penguinclassroom @harperkids @simonkids @littlebrownyoungreaders @randomhousekids @macmillankidsbooks @candlewickpress @chroniclekidsbooks Stay tuned!!!
Diving into four super skills that make us stronger readers: using context clues, retelling a story, dictionary skills, and choosing just right books. Readers who master these skills become confident, strong, and independent readers 💪🏼📗
First library visits of the year! Students checked out their very first books and learned how to make our library a place for everyone to enjoy! 📚
The library shelves are full, cozy seats are waiting, and my heart is ready! I can’t wait to welcome you back for more stories, adventures, and laughter. Let’s open the pages to another magical year together! Love, Your Librarian ❤️📖
Our First Garden Club Showcase was a Blooming Success! Fr pollinator plants to Giant Swiss Chard, our young gardeners dug deep & brought our vision to life! This was a learning experience but one we’re growing from. We're already dreaming up ideas for next season...can’t wait!
