This afternoon Shama visited Cathedral Kitchen in Camden to learn more about their operation and the challenges they’re facing with the recent surge in demand.
It was a busy day in Trenton yesterday with voting sessions in both houses. The LD37 team advanced ten pieces of legislation, including 5 bills and one joint resolution which were sent to the Governor for his signature.
Today, Ellen met with a liaison from the Korean War Veterans Association to discuss ways to better support New Jersey Korean War veterans.
Yesterday Shama joined @GovMurphy and @MikieSherrill at @firstladyNJ’s final Nurture NJ Leadership Summit. The day focused on how to foster a more collaborative approach to maternal health, to ensure that the voices of mothers, families, and caregivers shape the solutions.
Shama joined Bergen County Commissioners in Englewood for the launch of Center for Food Action’s Mobile Food Pantry! This is a powerful tool which will allow @CFA201 to bring resources directly to the people who need it.
Congratulations on your grand opening Artist Made Shop! The LD37 team recognized Bergen County’s newest business with a citation from the legislature. We wish you nothing but success on this new venture!
Michael Dressler was a lifelong public servant and a guiding light in Bergen County politics for decades. We will miss him, and our prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
It was a full house Tuesday night as the Franklin Food Bank celebrated 50 years of serving the community with a 70s themed gala! Congratulations to Executive Director Derek Smith, on shepherding the organization through this landmark anniversary!
Earlier this week Shama joined BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha and community members for a Diwali celebration at the Statehouse!
Gordon and Shama joined DCVYP at St Paul’s Episcopal Church for their turkey distribution event this morning, alongside volunteers from the Peace Islands Institute.
Over the weekend, Shama joined local artist, Maria Teresa Ortiz-Naretto, in Leonia for the ribbon cutting on her mural “Finding Peace in Fort Lee Rd” and presented her with a certificate, recognizing her contributions to the community.
This morning Ellen attended the 2025 Conference on Global Supply Chain & Maritime Logistics, hosted by the Korea Maritime Institute & @NJCUniversity. The event focused on understanding global supply chain risks & logistics challenges while exploring strategies to address them.

Today, Ellen visited the Port Newark Container Terminal with fellow members of the Assembly Commerce, Economic Development, and Agriculture Committee.
