Today, we visited Frederick Douglass Academy with our NYPD School Safety partners for a student forum on leadership, decision-making, and public safety. We remain committed to being present, listening to students, and strengthening trust through ongoing, meaningful engagement.
Today, we joined students at the High School for Law Enforcement and Public Safety with Superintendent Dr. Van-Ess, Community Affairs, and Youth Strategies, highlighting service, leadership, and pathways to careers in public safety.
We mourn the passing of Retired Lieutenant Anthony DiPalma. With 44 years on the job, he was the longest serving uniformed member of the service. He looked out for our cops, mentored generations, and served with heart. Our condolences to his family and colleagues.
Today’s meeting at the Bronx Hope Passages program brought together students, educators, and School Safety Division leadership. We listened to youth voices and discussed school safety, mentorship, and paths to opportunity.
At Tod’s Point, the Silver Shield Foundation’s 6th Annual Greenwich Walk honored those who gave their lives and the families who carry their legacy. Proceeds support scholarships for children and surviving spouses of fallen first responders. Thank you to all.
