We now have our own well on our new land! 💦 We are so grateful to have reliable access to #cleanwater AND to begin sharing this water with our local community once we complete the building of our new campus. We’re also now harvesting our first crops on the land!
Catherine used to be worried that her parents might not be able to afford healthy meals. But now, with the care she’s found at Neema, she says, “I feel at peace and I am able to concentrate in class. I have no stress because I know my child is well fed and well taken care of.”
Neema recently hired a part-time manager to follow up with and support our alumni, ensuring they thrive as young professionals. Our graduates are empowered to make their own decisions, no longer left to enter undignified forms of work, and are changing the lives of others!
In areas of #Kenya where #poverty and #genderinequality are high, like Kitale, only 19% of girls are in school. And of those in the first year of school, 1/5 (or less) make it to their eighth year (@borgenproject ). Click to learn how you can help! neemaproject.org/statistics
