New paper alert: Circadian rhythmicity in prepulse inhibition of the acoustic startle response: A study of chronotype and time-of-day effects in young healthy adults. @ulrichettinger #chronotype #prepulseinhibition #sleep #timeofday @BrunelResearch dx.doi.org/10.1177/026988…
Our new paper found no chronotype effect in adults aged 18–45 but noted synchrony (better performance at optimal times) influenced attention, inhibition, and memory. In older adults, there was evidence of a synchrony effect, especially on tasks involving fluid abilities.

More evidence that sleep matters in chronotype-mental health relationship, from the UK and Germany. Our new paper is now published in @MDPIOpenAccess (mdpi.com) @ulrichettinger @rpandeybhu @BrunelCCN @BrunelResearch
The study (funded by @bialfoundation) conducted by research team @BrunelCCN and @bhupro shows that regular meditation practice affects sensorimotor processing. Meditators reporting non-dual awareness during practice showed superior sensorimotor gating, relative to those without.
Interesting findings of sleep quality fully mediating chronotype-mental health relationship in non-clinical young adults!! For more details check our new paper in @npjMentalHealth A special thanks to Prof Veena kumari, Prof @ulrichettinger, Prof @rpandeybhu @BrunelCCN

Day 1 of commenting on another MYTH. I find it super hilarious when people push the elite 4:00 AM ideas on others without actually knowing the severe health (physical & mental) consequences of it. Tip: follow your intrinsic body cycle. #chronotype #evening #sleep
It was fun presenting some cool and interesting sleep findings at the annual @BSPID conference 2024 @SalfordUni Many thanks to my supervisor Prof Veena Kumari & collaborators/mentors @ulrichettinger @rpandeybhu for their unwavering support 😊 @ccnbrunel @bruneluni
