The best thing about being at the lake is when I wake up before everyone else and can sit with a cup of tea in the fresh air.
Honestly, it was nice to hear what Daisy could do with those bone claws since Laura hadn’t had any real experience of her own natural claws. Always bringing a smile to her face when she heard about the discoveries and secrets. They were safe here. All of them.
Daisy was enthusiastic when she ran back telling Laura how so managed to split some of the logs with her claws. The fire was set, almost ready for cooking. Jacob had to explain he only let her slice the smaller kindling, to avoid any accidents.
“Jacob…” Laura started on the pissing and shitting, and then wondered if it would even change things. “Bury your poop.” She finally added, eyes rolling. Alright, how to make a spear for an overly enthusiastic toddler. It was an entire lesson in itself.
“This is getting back to your mum’s roots!” He told his son. “Less piss and shit out here.” It was Daisy who volunteered to help Jacob cut some wood for the fire. Clover begged Laura teach her spear fishing.
