Important win to close out the first half against a good Northeastern team. Extra juice for winning the final game in Matthews. Very happy for Svoboda and cotinue to be impressed with Tretheway. Hopefully a more fundamentally sound 2nd half is on the way
Weekend thoughts: -Boisvert is essential, makes his wings infinitely better -F depth is a problem with all the injuries, can’t play 10 F every game -Lost a game they should’ve won & won a game they should’ve lost -Still looking for consistency for 60 minutes across multiple games
Huge win for this group. On the road, against a tough team, and they found a way to win some hardware. Hoping this can be a momentum builder for everyone but key guys who noticeably stood out for me: Eiserman, Yegorov, Tretheway (!) Boumedienne (!!), Bednarik, McCarthy
Weekend thoughts: Overall much better from an effort standpoint, pockets of dominance in both games Injuries are here & Pando has to trust 18, 15, & 57. You played with 5 D & 10 F, & it cost you an extra point. Limited minutes will help those guys develop and keep others fresh
Weekend thoughts: -Powerplay is anemic without Eiserman -Still plenty of room for defensive improvement; way too many turnovers in own zone -Online “discourse” around Hutson and Boisvert being bad proven laughably wrong (and was silly to even be brought up in the first place!)
Got it done. Heading home with a sweep of the Warriors!
People just be saying anything on here huh?
It probably is crazy to say but everytime I watch Cole Hutson play I feel like we could be a better team without him. Probably a hot take but it’s a consistent thought I have.
Everyone will want to pick on Huston but I thought he had a strong series. Boumedienne & Amico have been a huge disappointment. Amico gets a pass due to injury recovery. Frechette cant be playing F but forwards NEED to actually backcheck too I’d go: 44-22 78-2 14-91 57/15
Weekend thoughts: -A healthy Boisvert is crucial to this team -Harvey finally starting to look like himself -Celebrini had a strong weekend -Hutson needs to get out of “hero” mode -Too many turnovers from Boumedienne -Good bounce back but need to learn to show up from Game 1
Similar vibes to the Michigan series last year. I wanted to see a team that could face adversity and claw their way back into a game and they did that. Michigan State is a powerhouse in every sense. Deflating end getting so close in OT but I’m happy with the response shown
Almost felt like a redux of the HE semi against UConn. Lazy & weak in your own zone, too many turnovers. Leaky defense. Pandolfo has shown he can get the team to respond after a loss but it will be a real test tomorrow
FINAL: Michigan State defeats BU 4-2 in the series opener.
Didn’t want to overreact to the first 4 against ranked opponents, but this team currently has no offensive identity. Way too much standing around and puck watching
Final from Walter Brown. We'll be back next Friday with our first Hockey East game of the season when we host UNH.
Fondrk is going to be a beast
Pandolfo says freshman Conrad Fondrk will be in the lineup Friday night.
Unimpressive win vs an LIU team that I think will be better than expected. Skill won you this game but similar issues as last year need to be kicked quick if this team wants to be consistent. Big Mike can’t save every shot (even if it seems like he can at times)
Few thoughts on the women’s weekend: Kept ground with a strong Minnesota team and the final scores were not indicative of the compete level Welckes showed their importance to this team, the offense will go as they go Freshmen all looked pretty good and ready for the moment
Gave it our all. We'll be on the road next weekend for a pair of games at Colgate.
Entire Dog Pound is just gonna be tossing up the 🤌🤌 after every save this kid makes
‼️🚨BREAKING🚨‼️ The Boston University Terriers receive a commitment from Steven Luciano! The ‘07 born goaltender from New Canaan, CT played this past season with Salisbury School (CT Prep). USHL rights to @OmahaLancers
Do not call or text me for the next month
Thank you, Reagan, for everything you have done for BU women’s hockey as a player and coach. Can’t wait to see where your journey takes you! Once a Terrier, always a Terrier 🐶🐾
Domenick Fensore getting his NHL debut is amazing. Captain of Boston University in 2023, played great in the ECHL, has been unreal in the AHL. Skates like the wind, his defense has massively improved since his draft year. Deserves this call up
Congrats to Quinn Hutson on signing a two-year deal with @EdmontonOilers! Wishing you all the best as you begin your pro career, Quinn!
Get your bag Tom
Instead of flying west to begin his pro career, Tom Willander is back at Boston University and resuming classes this morning. Everything can change with one phone call, but it's easy to wonder if a battle over bonuses is delaying his signing with Vancouver.
