Thats because there is no such a thing as "scientific consensus". Consensus ,by definition ,is a social /political construction and its about agreement. While science is a way of thinking. A way of projecting reallity into human brains.
This is 100% true. Economic analysis by itself does not automatically entail a policy choice. Neither does epidemiologic analysis. Or for that matter any scientific analysis. At best, they articulate what is possible. They do not dictate what is wise.

Everyone still talking about "privacy coins" and missing the point. Monero is about being permissionless peer to peer electronic cash. That requires fungibility and decentralization, which is where privacy and ASIC-resistance come in. Privacy isn't the main point.
