HMRC are encouraging businesses NOT subject to MTD, to record their information on a quarterly basis in a digital format eg spreadsheets, or online software.
If you are a VAT registered business with turnover below £85,000 you can still continue to submit your returns via the Government Gateway, this portal will not be closing when MTD starts.
