Finding the balance between creation and completion.

Yaarrr thar be dice!

No posts in 3 years? Time to dust off the old recipe of making a documented attempt to make a game again :) Only about 12-15 failed starts and prototypes have occurred in the past 3 years (maybe more - who is keeping count)

The real question is - guns or space wizards? I don't know which would be more fun :)

Phases of the moon for a rather large and difficult project.

Prototype complete. Measure. CAD. Print. Assemble. Some slight hiccups in-between or during steps!

I think Warren Buffet said something about making financial decisions while drinking on Saturdays. Or it was the homeless guy outside the Starbucks. Either way solid advice.

Took me a while, but finally broke down and got a 3D printer. I've convinced myself I will make useful things with it. However I'm prepared for a drowning wave of knick-knacks.

This weekend's distraction - #pico8 For anyone who is interested in dabbling in game creation I can't recommend it enough. It is a singular package of everything you'd need to make small games. Just testing I made a nibbles clone, Nibbler! beanish.github.io/nibbler/

When you sleep Where do your fingers go?

Needed a brain break from my current project and messed around with prototyping Super Mario Kart. I think I might revisit this one once my current project is done. Might not be too bad to make a fun multiplayer mobile game.

Got most of my soldering done tonight. Almost ready to go.

Current stained glass project underway. Foiling completed - solder time.

I need to pump out enough tweets on a regular basis so that my tweeting history isn't just a record of my failed attempts of being motivated and working on self improvement or making games :) WITH THAT SAID - I am currently working on a game and it has LEGS.

Turns out when programmatically generating a dungeon and your rooms seem to have an off by one number error *sometimes* you might need to remove the call to Random.range in your room generation code that you had slapped in previously for demo purposes.

It is hard to show a new demo that feels so incremental, but a lot has changed. Prevent the physics interactions that would break the gameplay, added in a start button and level state to know if it can start and now you can play a level! Too much progress has been made.
