Humanize Austin is a platform that allows those experiencing homelessness to tell their stories online.
Using terms like unhoused, unsheltered and people experience homelessness allows us to humanize and look upon this population as unique individuals who find themselves in a temporary state of homelessness, rather than a homogenous group of others defined by their homelessness.
Experts say that using more humanizing language — for ex. 'person experiencing homelessness' vs 'the homeless' — can help to #destigmatize #homelessness and create better community discussions around the crisis. READ ARTICLE: bit.ly/32fIU7K
