Sara Benedict (1841-1919) was part of the first graduating class in 1863 that consisted only of woman, where she would later teach art classes for 5 years. One of her works will be shown in the art building along with other art from the college collection from Nov. 10th-30th.

Mather Hall was built and completed in 1885. Named after a donor, Roland Mather. Originally served as the science building, it also featured an exceptional museum, this building would be torn down in 1965 to make room for our current learning center, Mott Academic Center in 1966.

Welcome New and Returning students! Shipherd Hall is one of our dorms on campus and named after the founder of our historical college. The original Shipherd Hall was burned down in 1959 and rebuilt in 1966 where it stands today.
