The World Health Organization has recently reclassified firefighting to its highest level of occupational risk for cancer. Thank you @MPPKerzner and @MonteMcNaughton for adding pancreatic and thyroid cancers as part of the presumptive @WSIB coverage for #Ontario's #firefighters.

#DufferinOPP along with @OrangevilleFire and @DufferinMedics have an important message. Enjoy the Super Bowl 🏈responsibly. Our first responder team attends far too many horrific collisions. If you plan on consuming drugs or alcohol don’t drive!! 🚔🚒🚑@DufferinCounty ^tp

Update: Roads remain CLOSED. Plowing and snowblower operations is ongoing with fresh operators starting at 3am. Still there are drifts and abandoned cars on the roads. This drift is 6ft high. Please stay off the roads so crews can work safely
Our shelter at Alder is now closed for the evening as all those who need help, received it. If stranded motorists need support overnight please call: 1-888-310-1122
We’ve re-opened Alder Arena as a warming centre and emergency shelter for people who have stranded vehicles and can’t get home tonight. We remind all residents, even the best snow tires, all wheel drive and 4x4 vehicles don’t win against snow drifts. Please stay home 🙏
We don’t like being so blunt, but please don’t visit us, or any where in Dufferin County this weekend. It might seem okay, but roads are bad and there aren’t many resources left to help stranded cars We don’t want visitors to get stuck in a snow drift ⚠️🆘❄️ Please RT 🙏
All Dufferin County roads remain closed due to treacherous travel conditions. Anyone with plans to travel through the area for the holidays is urged to please stay home and avoid travel until conditions improve. News release here: bit.ly/3Vmghiv

We’re out plowing roads today, however it will be a slow process to clean up from the storm (which is still going on!). Be patient with our plows today, they are working as quickly and safely as they can. More info at: Orangeville.ca/snow
