I've ended up in situations where Crown has ordered the transcript during a continuation, sent it to the witnesses, but refused to provide a copy to defence counsel because "copyright." Meanwhile those are my words in the transcript, so I own the copyright to them.
Part of the work we do includes protecting the integrity of the record. Transcripts are evidence, no?

I really like that @SaronGeb has sparked a debate about the Charter right to counsel and has highlighted that the content of that right falls far below public expectations. A detainee getting a single phone call with counsel is not sufficient.
