We’re happy to announce that last week our union won voluntary recognition & we are looking forward to starting the bargaining process! Unions make workplaces better and @OurRevolution, the progressive movement, our chapters & volunteers are all going to benefit! #UnionsForAll
BREAKING: Barnes & Noble workers at Rutgers University have voted UNANIMOUSLY to unionize with @RWDSU. They're the first Barnes & Noble store to win a union.
Congratulations to Penn residents and fellow physicians on organizing their union with @cirseiu. I call on @PennMedicine to hold a fair and transparent election that is free from intimidation.
Ben & Jerry's—owned by billion-dollar multinational Unilever—hadn't responded to workers about the Fair Election Principles. To increase pressure, workers held a rally in Burlington today where @BernieSanders and others spoke. vermontbiz.com/news/2023/apri…
BREAKING: Ben & Jerry's has agreed to demands from its workers for a fair union election process that paves the way for them to unionize the company's flagship store in Burlington, Vermont.
Today, workers at Barnes and Noble Union Square have declared their intent to unionize. We're partnering with @rwdsustrong to fight for systemic changes within the company to ensure better working conditions and pay.
Ben & Jerry’s has a long and proud history of being a progressive and socially conscious company. Now that scoopers in Burlington, VT have come together to form a union, my strong hope is that the company will voluntarily recognize the union and negotiate a fair first contract.
Strike + Solidarity = Strong Contract! Rutgers unions’ historic wins come from the solidarity between people with higher salaries & job security who stood shoulder to shoulder with and supported those who have lower salaries & do not have job security! northjersey.com/story/news/edu…
Here's the moment from Monday's hearing when Butzel-Long's attorney compared striking workers to domestic abusers. This comparison is extremely deplorable and was stricken from the record following our lawyer's objection.
Day 2 of Rutgers Strike! Incredible atmosphere in New Brunswick, for the union makes us strong …✊🪧🎶 Our chapter @RUprogressive is on the ground rallying, organizing! @ORWorkersUnion stands in solidarity! #1u #unionstrong #RUOnStrike
When we first went public as a union, @audubonsociety CEO @DrElizabethGray insisted management would remain “neutral” during our election. They hired Littler Mendelson, a notorious union-busting firm (see below). We won anyway but how much money did Audubon waste hiring them?
Companies spend over $400 million on union busting every year. They regularly pay "union-avoidance consultants" $350/hr or $2,500 per day while telling workers they can't afford to pay higher wages. epi.org/publication/un…
Today in court after admitting they were only able to find a single undergrad to testify in their favor, @UMich’s lawyers compared GEO’s strike to domestic violence. Comparing striking grad workers to domestic abusers is completely reprehensible. 🧵1/4

After 10 months without a contract, full-time faculty, grad students, counselors and adjunct faculty at Rutgers are calling for a STRIKE! This might become the largest public sector strike in NJ ✊ Solidarity with Rutgers academic workers! #RUOnStrike
For the first time in the history of Rutgers University, all three faculty, grad, EOF, and postdoc unions have voted to go on strike. Monday morning, we are ON STRIKE. See you on the picket line. #RUOnStrike
Feeling surreal to be a part of history being made today as Barnes & Noble workers in New Brunswick, NJ present their petitions to file for union recognition—the first store to file in the country!

UM grad assistant strike to continue into 2nd week
A judge has refused a request to shut down a strike by roughly 2,200 University of Michigan graduate workers.
We know @SBWorkersUnited recognizes this behavior. Try not to break any laws in your union-busting, @Apple. Don't want to end-up where Howard Schultz is.
REI location in Chicago goes union. Send them love!
Transgender people deserve to live free from discrimination at work, in public, or in private. @OPEIU is proud to stand with our transgender siblings. Trans rights are a union issue. #TDOV #TransDayOfVisibility
