Perhaps the most useless MLB news of all time is that "The Rays are interested in Freeman." I don't doubt that they are but he's probably not going to sign for $8 million a year.
Lost in the Freeman of it all is that the Yankees did get an excellent 1B at a great price.
Anthony Rizzo gets $32 million for two years with an opt out after the first year, per source. That opt out is huge. It’s a free year for him. If he goes off, chance to make more next off season.
