Ran into someone today that said she hadn't seen me here in awhile. I, honestly, haven't been checking in that much since all of the changes, but "Hi!" to @gustafsonmom. 🙃

I am just gonna say it: Brandi Carlile does not match P!nk energy as an opening act.

WTF.

Dolly Parton has never been in a cage fight, but she *has* gifted over 200 million books to children through her Imagination Library. In a world full of Zuckerbergs and Musks, be a Dolly.

My husband. 🙄

Old people love to tell customer service people all kinds of personal information they don’t need nor did they ask for 💀 Why is my grandfather telling the Verizon representative about us going to a birthday party this evening and what he had for breakfast?

It truly is a small world. Attended the Lizzo concert last night in Omaha. Afterwards, ran into @chargerbear1235 in the hotel lobby. 290 miles from home and still finding small town South Dakota.

When people become adults we suddenly stop giving them a little reward each time they finish a book, and I think that’s where we as a society go wrong.

I have finally accepted why reels don't often appeal to me. I can't fast forward. I don't want to listen to blabbing & blathering. I want to see a result & then decide if I should go back & hear the details. (Spoiler: I often don't.) My short attention span demands results.

Eons ago, someone approached me with her new counseling service. I declined. Later, a mutual acquaintance shared, "If I am going to pull out all my broken pieces, I want to make sure my advisor knows how to put me back together." It's advice I think about often.

Sanaa Abourezk had reservations about moving to the Midwest. People doubted her when she decided to open a Mediterranean restaurant in Sioux Falls that specialized in vegetarian, vegan, and healthy food. She joined SDPB to recount her culinary journey. listen.sdpb.org/arts-life/2023…

Books are important. Reading is crucial. Talking about books is necessary. An education without access to books is a partial, mutilated education. People who want less books and wish to control what others can and can’t read should be fought at every step.

A lot of my spring and summer clothing no longer fits properly. However, when I look online, there are so many ruffles and dresses with torso cut-outs. 🤮 I think I will just stay home and not wear clothes.
