There's a game studio which is actually creating a Fighting Game inspired by Bloodborne, Berserk etc. I tried it & talked with the devs at length about their vision and I'm amazed. They're new to the industry though, so they need all the help they can get! kickstarter.com/projects/afewr…

Been thinking recently about how even the classification of a "simplified game" causes people to invest less effort into improving their gameplay due to the implications of simplified gameplay essentially translating to a pure focus on layer 1 interactions and not much else
