Sometimes I think I'm a drone indistinguishable from any other member of my class and demographics But then I remember that I get rid of physical books after I read them. I am a radical free-thinker!

Okay, now I'm worried.

World economy has exited the ‘boom and bust’ cycle, BlackRock, $BLK, has said. BlackRock said it expects stocks will be boosted by transformation that will require huge investments from capital markets, and investments could sit on par with sums invested during the Industrial…

A leader should care about their popularity, frankly. "Fuck public opinion" is not a sentiment that should be held by a leader in a democracy.

7/ While apologising again for causing public anxiety, Yoon vowed to "fight until the end" (끝까지 싸울 것입니다), saying: "I've never once cared about personal popularity or keeping my position - I had to act to protect South Korea's liberal democratic order".

My younger cat is unnaturally intelligent. He's developed a procedure to indirectly kick old cat out his preferred spot, by attacking my feet, causing me to flinch, which disturbs old cat and causes him to move to a different place.

Small, but significant detail from this report from Clarissa Ward on the ground in Damascus today. Ward previously wore hijab in reports from rebel Syria. Today she speaks to a Syrian woman, both without hijab, with other women without hijab visible among rebels in the back.

I would become qualified to lay out the argument before killing someone over it 🤷‍♀️

“Obviously the problem is more complex, but I do not have space, and frankly I do not pretend to be the most qualified person to lay out the full argument” is such an odd sentence for a killer’s manifesto

Smart people are idiots too This is particularly true of those who do things like murder people, which is usually an idiotic thing to do.

Let me get this straight: Killer is Luigi Mangione, Ivy League grad with degrees in comp sci, avid reader and active contributor on GitHub. He has a 130+ IQ but he takes off his mask at a Starbucks to flirt with an employee, then an hour later goes and calmly kills the CEO of a…

I'm 99% confident this tweet is just confused. Lots of critiques of Piketty and Saez, none of which really point to a lack of demographic controls being important.

My five year old niece will be harsh but merciful. And look at that face, no Syrian faction is going to say no to that face. Just gotta keep her on track asking for "good institutions" and not "snack."

She’s as untouchable as menswear guy now. You bunch tried and she emerged from it like Daenerys Targaryen coming out of the burning temple. Meet your new queen.

Busy day, but just to say I am obsessed with all the tweets that are applying olfactory ethics to real world scenarios. I love that I have somehow equipped everyone with new terminology and frameworks!

States create nations. My most right-wing opinions is that the US may need to do a better job infusing people with nationalism through educational system. Well, it's that and that it's ok that people suffer natural consequences of making bad political choices.

I retrieved my blue place password and it really is much better over there. Most of my mutuals have moved, people I've missed for a while are there, and the discussion is more thoughtful. I still get in dumb fights bc that's just my personality, but they're more fun fights!

It's deeply dumb that the "pardon power" is mostly used for people who have already served sentences The pardon is empty and symbolic, except it is corrupt. Those are the two usages today. Abolish.

Hunter Biden likely wouldn't have qualified for a pardon recommendation under the Justice Department's criteria. The Office of the Pardon Attorney mainly recommends pardons for those who have already served sentences. Hunter Biden has not been sentenced. nyti.ms/3D3hCHm

fwiw I unironically believe that trump would have pardoned him too. outside the campaign trail, one of trump's most ideologically consistent principles is uncompromising solidarity with all criminally convicted political figures, regardless of partisanship
