Happy New Year from Passion for Freedom May 2026 be a year of voices heard, truths spoken, and freedom honoured - everywhere, for everyone. We celebrate freedom because it is not guaranteed. Let’s make it possible in every corner of the world. Stay bold. Stay free.
We wish you freedom that is precious because it is rare and fragile. We wish you the courage to choose what makes us human: to turn toward awareness rather than habit, to move beyond repeating what we were given and to discover what is true. Merry Christmas
As we step into 2026, we ask: How do you celebrate freedom? A New Year reflection from our close friend and a great artist from Denmark Kistian von Hornsleth @kvhhornsleth Happy New Year 2026
How do we celebrate freedom We celebrate human freedom because it is the doorway to responsibility. Only a free being can truly care. Only a free mind can love without possession. Only a free heart can serve without self-deception. If this speaks to you, follow along.
The festival was founded in 2009, and in every country we worked in England, Poland, the USA, or Denmark we sensed which topics were being restricted. We became a kind of litmus test, because artists have an extraordinary ability to reveal where freedom of speech is lacking.
Before each festival, an open competition is held for artists from all over the world, who submit their works and answer our three questions: „What is freedom?” „How to preserve it?” „How to celebrate it?” Follow us and be part of the conversation.
Passion for Freedom revealed how quickly England is changing. One of the most talked-about censored works by Mimsy became a clear indicator of what can no longer be said in this country. What exists in art is a thorn in the side of politicians - Passion for Freedom.
We will dearly miss our good friend @prwhittle who died on 27 November, peacefully and surrounded by those closest to him. Peter was a great patriot, Englishman, freedom defender and our supporter over the years. Founder and director of the @NewCultureForum Rest in Peace Peter.
