Biodiversity loss presents risks to human prosperity & well-being. There must be a comprehensive, worldwide effort to value, protect, & restore #NatureNow. Our new landmark report explains how it can be done: paulsoninstitute.org/FinancingNature @PaulsonInst / @nature_org / @AtkinsonCenter
Dr. Jane Goodall has long been an inspiration to both my wife, Wendy, and me. Her courage, intellect, and unwavering commitment to the natural world have left a profound mark on generations. —Henry M. Paulson, Jr. paulsoninstitute.org/press_release/…
PI’s update to the landmark Financing Nature report finds that the global biodiversity financing gap has grown from $711 billion in 2020 to $942 billion annually.
Our planet is worth protecting. 🌎 At the Bloomberg Philanthropies Global Forum, conservationist @JaneGoodallInst and @PaulsonInst Founder Henry M. Paulson Jr. sat down with @anthawilliams to discuss biodiversity as the foundation for human well-being and economic resilience.
JUST RELEASED: PI’s update to the landmark Financing Nature report, which warns that the global biodiversity financing gap has grown to $942B annually. Despite rising awareness of nature’s biodiversity loss, nature is vanishing at unprecedented rates. paulsoninstitute.org/wp-content/upl…

The biodiversity and climate crises continue the dual cycle of destruction, each exacerbating the other. Worse, our efforts to mitigate climate change too often increase biodiversity loss.
Check out our latest article on vital grassland ecosystems ⬇️
Confronted with the dual crises of biodiversity loss and climate change, the world is now rediscovering the worth of grasslands. @PI_Conservation looks at the value of grasslands, the distribution of these vital ecosystems, and restoration efforts: paulsoninstitute.org/conservation/c…

Grasslands are teeming with biodiversity & are important carbon sinks. Over the last 2 centuries, much of grasslands across the US have been lost to agricultural expansion. By 2010, a staggering 60% of US grasslands had vanished. Globally, grasslands have endured a similar fate.
We looked at the importance of grasslands, changes in their distribution, and reasons for conservation and restoration hope for these crucial ecosystems
In the realms of biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation, natural grasslands hold immense value. For example, temperate grasslands often match or exceed temperate forests in total carbon storage per hectare.
Most states only utilize a small fraction of their wind energy potential. In the coming decades, wind energy is set to become an increasingly vital part of the global energy mix, helping meet rising demand for electricity and powering the global economy. paulsoninstitute.org/conservation/c…

The distribution of wind farms in the US aligns with areas of high wind energy potential, ensuring that wind farms are situated where wind resources are most abundant and consistent. Despite the US ranking among the top countries in total installed capacity in wind energy
Ahead of Global Wind Day, PI is mapping US wind power and potential. The US is one of the world’s richest countries in wind resources. The country's onshore and offshore wind resources can produce enough clean energy to power the entire nation multiple times over.
For #WorldBiodiversityDay, Talia Moore spoke with @PaulsonInst on bioinspired robotics: “Bioinspired robotics can bring attention to rare or endangered species and help us see how they've evolved these awesome capabilities.” paulsoninstitute.org/conservation/c…

Humanity is tightly linked, heavily dependent on, and indebted to nature. Yet the biodiversity crisis demands we reevaluate our relationship with the natural world.
Exploring backyard biology helps reconnect us to nature, boosting our health and its biodiversity in the process. Read more from Thor Hanson in @NoemaMag noemamag.com/the-neglected-… noemamag.com/the-neglected-…
What is the role of cities in supporting migratory birds? What growing threats do migratory birds face? How can cities facilitate their safe passage?
AI firms require staggering amounts of energy to power the data centers on which their systems rely. Google last year reported the company’s total greenhouse gas emissions had risen by 50% over the previous five years—largely due to AI development.
On #EarthDay2025 PI is looking back at Hank Paulson's conversations with some of the world's clean energy pioneers, climate change experts, and policymakers.
For many, birding is a peaceful escape that provides a connection to nature. PI's @BirdingBeijing appears in this piece about how the joys of birdwatching promote not only community but also open the door to nature and the importance of biodiversity: youtu.be/zBSKjFEeb0U?fe…
