If any students are looking for something to do :)! I love this.
Heartfelt appeal from Scarlett, a 1st year pupil at my old school, as her local authority threatens to do away with all remaining school librarians. “Don’t take away our tiny islands.”
Great opportunity!
Schools! Would anyone in (or near) to Lincoln like a school visit from me on (or around) the morning of Jan. 12th next year? With my Eerie-on-Sea bag, Lost-and-Founder’s cap and everything? DM me if so, and we’ll arrange something. #edutwitter
RIP to the wonderful Marcus Sedgwick. 'Midwinterblood' & 'She is not invisible' were truly innovative books which will stay with me forever.
Marcus Sedgwick was one the first author visits I ever had as a school librarian almost 8 years ago. He was really brilliant with the students, rest in peace.
It's safe to say that we smashed our first @ReadforGoodUK readathon, a total of £735.90 was raised. Well done to our readers on their achievements & thanks to sponsors. More prizes in Year 6/7 assembly tomorrow. It is amazing what you can achieve when you read! @PortlandPlaceHd

Looked at this with Year 8 today, a great thought-provoking resource on Day of the Dead and Mexican culture @ThomasLalandePP
The Day of the Dead is commonly misunderstood in some countries, including the UK, where the perception is that this highly important ritual is simply a Mexican version of Halloween. An expert explains. bit.ly/3WllRDv

Strictly not Halloween: why Day of the Dead is misunderstood – and why that matters
Far from an extension of our secular Halloween, this Mexican celebration is a deeply religious custom with its own rituals, folklore and history.
Thanks so much to those who have donated so far, so proud of our brilliant readers in Years 6, 7, 8 and 9. Please hand in your forms to the library.
So many great titles #nonfictionnovemer
It’s that’s time of year again! #nonfictionnovember Lots of lovely non fiction for all ages in the @PGHSGirls school library! Thank you to Jenny Griffiths at @RPPS_Library for allowing us to use her template! 🙏
Just used the 'Papercuts' series on our VLE to read the spooktacular story The Trick as belated Hallowe'en treat in library lesson with our Year 8's today. It was great, as we could all follow along.
