the city is less safe BECAUSE the NYPD parks on the sidewalk. The amount of times I have had to push my kid in his stroller or my partner in their wheelchair into traffic because the cops parked on the sidewalk or I have had to bike in traffic because cops parked in the bike path

17 years after it was first introduced, I led the fight to finally implement congestion pricing. When I'm Mayor, I'll finish the fight for a 34th Street busway, too. Faster commutes, cleaner air, safer streets. That's what I call a win-win. nyc.streetsblog.org/2025/01/30/mir…

We're studying a new Waterfront transit service to revitalize a dormant rail line for the first time in 30 years! We want to hear from you about this idea and how you might use it. Take the survey: bit.ly/3Woue2W #MyPhillyWaterfront

It only took 3 days for New York to warm up to the benefits of congestion pricing after years of being propagandized by the dumbest and/or most self-serving political influencers in the state… we need to find ways to be louder than them if we wanna get things done quicker

congestion pricing has accomplished what highway widenings never could: it has almost completely fixed New Jersey traffic approaching NYC. and it actually *raises* billions in revenue instead of costing billions

A "Downtown North Philly" with massive consolidated train station & dense walkable mixed use buildings on the 200 acres of current vacant/car lots around it would be a paradise worthy of a new Sixers Arena. We should do it! But until then, putting the arena there makes no sense.

Owning a used car for 10 years costs about ~$101,000 (gas, parking, insurance, etc.). Riding the subway for 10 years? ~$15,840. If you invest the $85,160 difference in the S&P 500, you’d have ~$122,700 after 10 years. Skip the car. Build wealth. Take the train.

Notably Tim Walz funded all of Minnesota transit and helped with funding a Light Rail extension in Minneapolis. Josh Shapiro on the other hand is letting SEPTA die. And he probably wonders why he didn't get picked for VP when his record looks like this.

Congestion pricing is back on the table — BECAUSE OF YOU. Whether you made calls, marched in the streets, or hung up flyers — your support made this possible. It's vital we protect congestion pricing from Donald Trump. We look forward to hearing more details from the governor.

New: Gov. Hochul is set to announce a new congestion pricing plan tomorrow. - 40% reduction from the previous plan. - That means a $9 base toll for passenger cars, down from $15. - Tolls would increase over time. gothamist.com/news/hochul-to…

Philly can't be a city of no. We cannot be a world class city, fund our schools, and rebuild our communities by obstructing change and fighting investment. We can't yearn to always be America's poorest big city as a sort of cultural statement. We need to innovate and grow.
