People on this app love to make blanket statements to sound smart. Dont do this if you want to 5x your revenue. Do that if you want to get better clients. My only advice is to try everything. Dont follow any pattern. What will work for you might be unheard of in the industry.
Bringing a point of view to your content makes it original. Big whoop. That's no surprise. But this might be: it makes your content more organized, too. Instead of a random list of sub points, suddenly you have to pay attention to how everything fits together on the whole.
Some really useful tips in here. Sharing so I can come back to it later... Definitely need to check out some of these "secret" resources 😉
Struggling to find prospects to cold pitch? You’re not alone! In fact, the most common question I hear from fellow freelancers about cold pitching is: “where do I even find potential clients to pitch???” Valid question. Here are some places you might not have considered 🧵👇
I have made a mistake. I used the last of the milk for cereal when I could have used yoghurt. But I can't use yoghurt for coffee. Does this mean I'll have to go ~outside~ to caffeinate myself? Or just suck it up and have coffee without milk? #WorkFromHomeProblems
There is no "hack", no cheat-code, no trick to become a successful freelancer. It takes work. A *lot* of work. And if you're not willing to pay that price, then it might not for you.
I really miss the Facebook jobs board for finding freelance writing gigs. Sure, LinkedIn is great, but I find so few opportunities are truly freelance vs contract or full-time roles, even when I set my criteria to "freelance". Anyone know where freelance writing hunters hang out?
One of the biggest challenges of freelancing is unpredictability. Some months you're fully booked, and other months you're hoping to land just one client. It's a struggle that many freelancers resonate with. So, here's a thread on how to make freelancing predictable:🧵
Hahahaha yes it does sometimes! Particularly when I'm doing things for myself rather than a paying client 😂

Looks like a light work day for me today. So, what would be more productive? Writing a #copywriting blog for my own site, or finally sitting down to the #SEO course I've been putting off? I'll tell you one thing, it's definitely not continuing to scroll through social media 😂
Who are your top competitors? It may not be who you think For example, Reid Hasting, the CEO of Netflix once said that their biggest competitor is… Sleep
💯 This.
Well, if your rates are so "competitive" why won't you tell me what they are?
I can wholeheartedly confirm that this is exactly what #boatlife is like... There's always something new to fix! Good luck Dan & Kika, you've got my sympathies (while we wait to find out if our keel bolts need replacing - we only came on the hard for painting!) 🙈
We’ve been asked so many times “is the refit on Uma done?” Let’s just say There is always something to fix, or upgrade, or refit, on a sailboat. For every 1 thing You fix, you find at least 2 more problems to add to the never ending list. And when you find yourself near the bott
Omg I badly need to do this! So useless when it comes to personal marketing. Definitely need to start organising my day better beyond just 'here are the tasks I need to complete today' 😂 Maybe next week... #FridayThoughts
Freelancers & consultants: One of the easiest ways I know to build a marketing habit... Block.👏Time.👏On.👏Your.👏Calendar! Make an appointment with yourself to do the "important but not urgent" stuff. Even 30 minutes a day, consistently invested, can take you VERY far.
Pretty much! It's all fine and good paying for ads, but if your content is crap, nobody is going to trust a word you say! Get your content in order, then worry about getting it in front of more people. 👍
If you: a) have a mid-market or enterprise product b) are investing in paid advertising c) aren’t investing in content You’re probably leaving a lot on the table.
Being a digital nomad with a pet cat is all fine and good until your boat (home) needs significant work and your campervans engine repairs are NOT going the way you want (and no, they're not in the same place). Not 100% sure how we're going to resolve this yet... 🙈
Interesting to learn about London Stock Exchange's Sustainable Bonds marketplace... This might be the motivation I need to FINALLY unlock my SIPP and make sure my investments are in the right places 🌎🌳🐝 #GoGreen lseg.com/sites/default/…
