Recently restored an old Chubb 110 detainer lock, gave it a full clean and service, plus a new lever set and two genuine keys. After many years in use, it’s ready for many more. They really don’t make them like this anymore! #Satisfying
Brass multi point handles replaced, as this one somehow managed to fall off!
Another elderly victim to this kind of thing unfortunately, it seems to be rife scamming customers at the moment. Unless this trade is regulated in some sort of way, this isn’t going to stop. At close to nearly £1500 this is unlawful and in my eyes criminal.
One of today’s jobs, to open up this Ford Transit and supply customer with a genuine Ford remote key.
The one and only key was lost for this customers up and over garage door. Lock opened and replaced. #Locksmith #Suffolk
A prime example of what a euro cylinder should not look like when fitted. Obviously I did not leave it like this for the customer. #locksmith #Ipswich
A customer unfortunately found themselves locked out earlier. These aren’t particularly the hardest makes of lock to pick. But whoever fitted the lock badly before, made this job a bit harder. #locksmith #Ipswich

Something not work related for a change (well sort of) A trip out to a business owner in Aldeburgh who had an "emergency locksmith" out and they had not done a very good job. Time to put that right and also chill for 10 minutes whilst having some of the best chips I’ve ever had.
A bit of old school Locksmithing yesterday. Customer lost all keys to this Chubb. Instead of just fitting new one, it’s nice to keep these locks in circulation, its certainly a case of they don’t make them like that anymore. New lever set fitted & two new original keys supplied.
Failed Yale British Standard lock replaced today. New one is changed to a brass colour to fit all the other hardware on the door.
Some old school locksmithing. This job involves changing the levers and keys. This ensures the customer can keep the old lock but changing internals in effect changes the key.
Another out of hours lockout and another lock picked open without damage. This of course saves the customer money and proves not all Locksmiths always reach for the drill.
This job was done on a new build site. Keys for these high security locks were lost. The site manager needed these open so they could be replaced.
Changing some broken handles on a plastic door. What a lovely view from outside the customers front door.
Not your average job today. Customer brought in this unique campaign desk as it needed opening. After some research this desk was used by military personnel in the Boer War. Something a bit different from the run of the mill stuff is always nice
