I’d start by asking other people where they’ve worked and interned. There’s nothing better than a personal reference. Maybe someone you know is well connected! #pspleadership

#pspleadership Q1: @jillydefrank asks “Looking for jobs/internships is overwhelming, what would be the best first step to start this process?” #phisigmapi

I love this! I always try to THINK...is it True, Helpful, Important, Necessary, Kind?

I frequently share this with my medical students; house staff; and colleagues interested in using #socialmedia as a good guide to #professionalism #PSPLeadership #hcsm

If any of your volunteer work demonstrates a critical skill area related to the job you are applying for then it could even be placed within a category with a heading like “Fundraising Experience” or “Event Planning Experience”. #pspleadership

You definitely want to include a category for training, certifications, presentations and/or professional development. Sound familiar? That’s Leadership in Action! #pspleadership

Great advice! #pspleadership

The thesaurus is your friend! Don’t use the same verbs too many times #pspleadership

One way is to emphasize accomplishments by using power verbs. Begin your phrases with words like “increased,” “initiated,” “resolved” and “improved.” These go beyond simply stating your duties to emphasize how you produced results. #pspleadership

Chronological is a great way to ensure that employers have a clear picture of your development #pspleadership

Make sure you start every bullet with a verb in the past tense for your previous jobs

Double and triple check your grammar and spelling. Consider printing off your resume to proofread or have someone else look over it for you. #pspleadership

Calibri! Look, @MBurkephisigmap @PSPVaniaL @psp_DarrenH @pspjennifer, my favorite font!

Your resume also needs to be easy to read. Employers should be able to easily read and absorb your work history & accomplishments. Chose fonts such as Times New Roman, Arial or Calibri. The font size should be between 10 & 12. #pspleadership
