What happens when the U.S. restricts H-1B visas? Firms don’t stop hiring talent, they just move jobs abroad. For every visa rejection, multinationals add ~0.4–0.9 foreign employees, especially in R&D hubs like India, China, and Canada.

Thankful for this important work w/ @jreadyp @mf_gallo @_payalc @ColleenAmandaR Morgan Anderson. We find national increase in 9-1-1 activations for obstetric conditions among 15-49-yo women post Dobbs, pronounced in protective states --> spillover effects on health care systems.
Using national EMS data, we observed over 900 additional obstetric-related emergency activations in the first three months following the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision. The majority of this increase occurred in states with protective abortion policies. doi.org/10.1093/aje/kw…

Ok whoever started the fad of "ARIMA time-series analysis with an exogenous exposure/shock is not ITS", please come see me. I will take u out for coffee & explain how you understand neither method & are focused on terminology rather than content. #RantOver #AcademicChatter
Getting a PhD is amazing because everyone calls you "doctor" but only sarcastically when you mispronounce something
This is the first study to show that selection in utero against male twins declines following favorable ambient exposures, yielding more live male twins births in the population. Really really cool work and implications for male twinning as a gauge of collective optimism!!
Excited to announce our latest publication! Obama's 2008 election was associated with a 4.5% rise in male twin rates among non-Hispanic Black births, signaling reduced fetal loss. Sociopolitical shifts can improve health outcomes! tinyurl.com/5x5fenve
