As news breaks today that @karenforky's son Henry, who was trans, died by suicide, I can't help but think of this powerful speech she made on the Ky. Senate floor this year speaking out against bills targeting trans youth.
"I cannot tell you how hurtful it is for a parent to see your child suffering from ignorance, from people who don't know and from people who honestly don't care." A Kentucky legislator and parent of a trans son spoke out against a bill that would exclude trans kids from sports.
Every single Republican in Congress voted against capping out-of-pocket drug costs for seniors at $2,000 a year.
Declare Russia a terrorist state. Refuse to recognize passports from Russia. Would we buy energy or trade with ISIS? And Russia is vastly more dangerous and equally barbaric.
Outrageous. Russia strikes the port city of Odesa less than 24 hours after signing an agreement to allow shipments of agricultural exports. The Kremlin continues to weaponize food. Russia must be held to account.
If my choice is: 1. A President who calls for Putin’s removal and calls Putin a monster, murderous dictator, & thug. Or 2. A President who never criticized Putin, always praises & defends him, and, in front of the world in Helsinki, kissed Putin’s feet. I’ll take #1 all day.
