Where do you think schools will need to focus once they reopen? They'll be on the frontline of dealing with children's emotions and making space for that will be crucial. This sounds like a good idea to us... ⬇️ thehiddenspaces.wordpress.com/2020/04/27/whe… #edutwitter #schools #education #lockdown
RT if you think the primary school whose pupils were called ‘snowflakes’ on front page of @Daily_Star for doing mindfulness lessons deserve an apology/explanation (after several contact attempts they haven’t replied to us, come on twitter - get involved!) centreformentalhealth.org.uk/news/open-lett…
Our petition calling on the government to review the impact of their education reforms on child wellbeing is just 55 signatures short of 1000 - once it hits 1k, we'll send it to the Education Secretary. Share our concerns? Give it a sign/share! #ukedchat you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/addr…

Address Concerns Over Education & Child Well-being
We have the right to expect that those in government with responsibility for children’s education will take their well-being fully into account when making changes to the education system. It is...
#EducationEmergencyNow High stakes testing, privatisation, funding, lack of play... Four horsemen of The Education Apocalypse?! @antiacademies @SaveSchoolsUK @Keep_EYs_Unique @reclaimschools @MoreThanScore
High stakes tests like #sats just have to go. Compassion needs to return to each and every school for each and every child. @educationgovuk should be ashamed to preside over this sort of situation.
SATs 💔Stress levels rising; teachers & children wrung out. 💔Arts, playtime, sports, music all cut back. Reduced curriculum and teaching to the test. 💔Teacher recruitment crisis; schools with disadvantaged children find it even harder to recruit. 👍SATs & league tables must go.

So one of my Deputies has had to tell him after the funeral you are going to have to sit the paper on your own and you have to be separated from your friends for the next four days . What on earth kind of education is this? The only thing he’s learnt is life is extremely brutal.
Rarely do I ever post anything even close to negative but I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this. We have been refused special consideration for SATS for a child in distress as a result of a parent’s death and funeral. Genuinely staggered!
Teachers/parents - how have you found this year's SATS? Have they positively or negatively impacted your children's wellbeing or education? We'd love to know! #SATS #sats2019 #ukedchat
This is disgraceful child abuse. 34% of 11 yr olds have been sent letters saying they have not reached an “expected standard”. Politicians - Made up this standard. - Ignored academics. - Failed to fund schools or prepare teachers. - Then blamed children. They should resign
Misleading from @NickGibbUK in @GuardianEdu today on schools reducing SATS stress: "Sometimes pupils don't even realise they are taking tests." Official 2018 Gov doc 'Key Stage 2: Test Administration Guidance': PUPILS HAVE TO KNOW when tests being administered. #SATSResults2018
@nadhimzahawi Have a word with your colleague @NickGibbUK about how children with existing stress/anxiety are highly attuned to the extra stress of high-stakes testing regardless of how good their schools are at protecting them from it. Cheers mate! #SATs theguardian.com/education/2018…
