The Miami Marlins today announced the following roster moves:
#Marlins should not stop here for bullpen help. They have a solid bullpen, but getting an extra arm never hurts.
Pete Fairbanks has agreed to a one-year, $13 million deal with the Marlins, per source. @WillSammon was on it.
Reliever Pete Fairbanks and the Miami Marlins are in agreement on a one-year, $13 million contract, sources tell ESPN. Fairbanks, 32, had an $11 million option turned down by Tampa Bay and went onto the open market and beat it by $2 million. @WillSammon was first on the deal.
The trade market is heating up. Would love to see the #Marlins get involved here. Multiple trade pieces available out of Miami.
Although the Morel signing could impact further improvement at the position, Rhys Hoskins remains a cheap and logical option for the Marlins. Hoskins pairs one of the most loft-centric approaches in the sport with an extremely keen eye at the plate, a very overlooked profile
Even with the down year, Lowe would be a good buy-lowe candidate for the #Marlins He should have a handful of suitors, though
Brzykcy is a high slot, high carry north-south pitcher who struggled badly with command issues in 2025. Eager to see what a change in organizational pitching philosophy does for him down the line.
Since going to AAA, Robby Snelling has proven that he is ready for the major leagues. In his 52.2 IP, he has 1.37 ERA 1.02 WHIP 13:67 BB:K .216 BAA With a 5 pitch mix, he could easily be competing in Miami come spring time. #Marlins
Thomas White has been promoted to Triple-A Jacksonville!!! Just announced on the Marlins TV broadcast.
Thomas White discusses the development of his new, harder breaking ball, comparable to Tarik Skubal's slider and Garrett Crochet's cutter. "Every single pitch has changed this year...The ceiling has been pretty unreal on most of them." Full interview: youtube.com/watch?v=vmJH_y…
Marlins RHP Cal Quantrill is on outright waivers, sources tell @TheAthletic. Owed remainder of $3.5M salary, 5.50 ERA in 24 starts, including 11.25 ERA in three starts in August.
From multiple sources, the latest on Declan Cronin isn’t good. It’s a UCL injury that will end his season and keep him out for an extended period. It’s Cronin’s third trip to the IL this year. Also ended ‘24 on the IL. Pre-arb eligible in ‘26. #Marlins
Jakob Marsee is doing a lot right in his first 11 games in the Majors for the #Marlins , but what's been the biggest key to his success? He's whiffed at pitches at an extremely low rate, 14.5% (MLB Average is 25%) and chased only at 10.7% (MLB Average is 28.4%)
Marlins claimed Outfielder Joey Wiemer off waivers today. He was designated for assignment by the Royals last week. He will report to AAA Jacksonville.
Your Miami Marlins are 31-15 in their last 46 games.
The Miami Marlins will not be trading Sandy Alcantara today. He’ll once again be the ace down the stretch as the Marlins keep pushing this season and developing for the future.
The Astros are acquiring OF Jesus Sanchez from the Marlins for RHP Ryan Gusto, sources tell me and @brianmctaggart. Houston lands the lefty bat it has been seeking.
Sources: The Marlins and Yankees have had dialogue about either Sandy Alcántara or Edward Cabrera going to the Bronx. The Marlins have asked for Spencer Jones (1.115 OPS in the minors this season) as different concepts have been discussed. @MLBNetwork
The Miami Marlins are a team to watch today. Around league, interest in Sandy Alcantara and Edward Cabrera is very high, sources said. Other Marlins pitchers getting attention: relievers Ronny Henriquez and Calvin Faucher. More: nytimes.com/athletic/live-…
