Every 6 hours in Scotland, someone dies of a preventable drug related death. We have the worst drug death rate in Europe & without action it will only get worse. That's why I have launched my Bill consultation in @ScotParl to establish Overdose Prevention Centres. Watch 👇👇

If you suffer a stroke in Glasgow today, you are significantly more likely to be permanently disabled or die than if you suffered a stroke yesterday. The lack of a 24/7 stroke treatment service in Glasgow hospitals is shocking. It is routine elsewhere in the UK.
🏥If you suffer a stroke on a weekend in Glasgow, you are more likely to die because of the Scottish Government's failure to fund life-saving treatment on a 24/7 basis. The tragic death of Anthony Bundy was preventable and it must be a turning point for stroke care.

Nowhere in Scotland offers it on a 24/7 basis. We’re failing Scots who have a stroke outside office hours. It’s scandalous.
Scottish Labour MPs, MSPs and candidates met today with the Palestinian Ambassador @hzomlot . We welcome the ceasefire in Gaza, the end of bloodshed and the planned release of hostages. It must last — backed by urgent aid, a real path to peace and an end to occupation.

🏀 Disability is not an inability ⚽️ It was great to be at Easterhouse Sports Centre this afternoon to learn about accessible sports access across Glasgow

🚂 All aboard! The Railway 200 Exhibition Train is at Glasgow Central Station this weekend—October 11th and 12th! The fantastic team is ready to welcome you for a memorable experience. The train is fully accessible, and visits are organised in 15-minute intervals so you can enjoy…

Tonight I’m staying in one of Britain’s great railway hotels, Glasgow’s voco Grand Central, opened in 1883 by the Caledonian Railway.

Despite declaring a housing emergency a year ago, the SNP still has no plan to fix Scotland’s housing crisis. Scotland can’t afford a third decade of this incompetent SNP.
The Magnum Photo Archive has recently published 5 unseen photos from Raymond Depardon's now iconic Glasgow 1980 series, discovered during a digitisation project. 📷 Magnum/Raymond Depardon #Glasgow

Vulnerable patients bear the brunt of the SNP’s mismanagement of our NHS.

Friend of mine had a severe stroke in England recently- from phone call to hospital 45mins - the surgeon who removed a massive blood clot from their brain via their groin, said has she been 30 minutes later on his operating table she’d have been permanently disabled & probably…

Getting the branding and passenger experience right is far cheaper than building that tunnel from Central to Queen St, and both are just as important.
It's ridiculous that Greater Glasgow doesn't have an official Metro Rail and Subway map @ScotRail & @SPTcorporate should commission one, giving the different lines proper identities like the London Overground and Underground It's an easy first step towards a proper Clyde Metro!

It's indefensible that there is not a 24/7 Mechanical Thrombectomy service in Glasgow...neurons and lives being lost unnecessarily...

A very powerful read by @PaulJSweeney. Despite doctors' best efforts, Stroke patients in Scotland are getting 20th century care when 21st century treatments are available just across the border. We must work together to put this right for Scottish patients and their families.

Scotland’s leading mental health organisations are demanding answers over what appears to be a multi-million-pound cut to direct mental health spending, quietly buried in the Scottish Government’s Autumn Budget Revision. heraldscotland.com/news/25516974.…
