My eldest just turned 9 and we now have pads and period undies at both mine and her mom’s place, and have had the conversation about it. Normal bodily functions, especially those that happen to children should never be taboo.

Helping to satisfy their curiosity is one of thee very best things about parenting, IMO. Kids are sponges, and I'm gonna give mine all the water that they wanna soak up. Denying them knowledge or facts will only come back to bite you. $0.02
