Ahh, late December… that time of year when anchors go on vacation, managers work half-days and news crews rotate between house fires, the airport and whatever parade the newsroom didn’t plan to cover until the last minute. Just head on over. I’m sure traffic won’t be a problem.
So many memories! I remember running down the hallways to the tape room before a newscast with a stack of tapes from my chin to my extended arms.

Every TV News photographer knows what it’s like to be trapped in a small room with a new reporter who’s totally lost control of an interview. Only a few of us will pull the fire alarm. (Kidding, of course. Usually I just slip out and flip a breaker.)
Let us now recite The TV News Photog’s Prayer… God grant me the serenity to accept the reporter I’ve been assigned, the courage to change out batteries at just the right time and the wisdom to push the Record button thingie whenever I’m supposed to. Amen.
