Cool stuff here: as stated below, I knew the Buran had those, but never saw it in the Space Shuttle (even in artwork form)

When the Space Shuttle had its engines. During the early 70's NASA considering to have a powered version of the Orbiter to use during flight tests (like Soviets did later with the Buran Analog). At the end NASA give it up for the ALT test with the Enterprise as glider.
