Plastic Bearing PV's cont- The 2nd, PV's apply to low loads & high linear speeds (up to 45in/sec).Good linear brg mat'l versus the 1st one.

Plastic Bearing PV's-Acetal/13%PTFE LPV @7500, Acetal/13%PTFE/3%Silicone oil LPV@16-18,000.1st one moderate loads & speeds (3-5 in/sec) cont

Plastic Bearing Note: Higher temp mat'ls like PEEK or Polyimide withstand more heat thus higher PV's.Not necessarily a better bearing mat'l.

Plastic Bearing note-Don't fall into the Limiting PV trap.Takes an understanding of base mat'l & it's compound to apply correctly

Keller Extrusions www.kellerplastics.com - about to launch new family of BioPlastics for Profile Extrusions. Got an application? Contact me!

Plastic Bearing Note - Plastic Ball Bearings can be made in about any configuration your imagination can conjure up. I've made lot's of them

Plastic Bearing Note: Plastic Ball Bearings are ideal for light duty applications & because they're thermoplastic gives you design freedom!

Plastic Bearing Note - UHMW - great for channels & rub strips,Low PV's as journal bearing, temp<150F. Loves water & cold temps

Plastic Bearing Note- Fortron PPS makes a better bearing material than Ryton PPS - More ductile, not brittle, compounds better, good up to 350F

Plastic Bearing Note- PEEK & PTFE unfilled make poor brg mat'ls, properly filled though, make excellent Bearing Materials

Plastic Bearing Note-Laminate Composite best choice for Large Dia Heavy Load applications, slow or oscillating ie: Hydro,Marine,Const.Equip

Plastic Bearing Note-Nylon ok for some applications-Low PV,Hygroscopic, can be noisy running dry. Filled Cast Nylon good for large bearings

Plastic Bearings Note- Teflon(PTFE) makes a good base material for Plastic Bearings. Mineral, polyimide, Moly, Carbon,Glass-some application

Plastic Bearings-a good compound that applies to Peek, PEI or Fortron PPS is 10/10/10 Carbon, Kevlar & PTFE. High Pv's, great wear/ friction

I'm seeing and reading a lot of Buzz on Bioplastics. Wondering how much traction it's really getting over traditional materials?
