THE PA POINTS STANDINGS (PAPS) - A different way of thinking about ranking teams 🧵 TLDR: An opponent adjusted ranking system that awards points for results, similar to the points systems of Hockey and Soccer, but tweaked in a way that suits the complexity of College Football.
We are getting very close to every serious football school being on the FBS. Part of the P4 breaking off into a separate division is the consolidation of the G5 with the top FCS teams and setting up their own playoff using the FCS format.

Leicester was 5000-1 to win the league. Indiana was 100-1. I don’t see how it’s remotely close.
This still doesn’t solve the fact that it’s more advantageous to be the 3rd team in the Big Ten or SEC than it is to be in the top 2. You’re likely a top 8 team and instead of playing a title contender you get to play Houston or Arizona.
