For too long, the procurement process has been beset by malpractice and corruption. This must stop. My government will not tolerate criminal and greedy tendencies. All practitioners must forsake the old ways of doing things, which have held us back as a nation 2/3

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Comrade Dumiso Dabengwa. I had huge respect for Dumiso and his contribution to Zimbabwe: As a liberation fighter, a long standing Minister of Home Affairs & as a man. My deepest condolences are with his friends and family at this sad time
Today, I met a doctor’s delegation to hear about the challenges they face. Following the meeting, we have released funds to repair key equipment in referral hospitals, while our friends in the UAE are helping us reequip as we draw up long term plans to improve service delivery
I was delighted to address the 35th International Chromium Development Association conference in Victoria Falls. The decision of the prestigious, Paris-based organisation to hold this event in Zimbabwe is a major vote of confidence in our economic reforms & our abundant potential
I closed my address by welcoming our neighbours to the inaugural AU/UN Wildlife Summit, hosted by Zimbabwe, to be held in June in Victoria Falls. I look forward to continuing the discussions then 2/2
At the Kasane Elephant Summit, we worked to develop a common regional position on elephant management, and called to be able to trade and better benefit from our natural endowments so they may help us to eradicate poverty and improve the quality of life for rural communities 1/2

It was moving to hear from residents & chiefs from Chipinge & Chimanimani, whose communities were ravaged by Cyclone Idai. We have identified land to house the displaced & those at risk from future natural disasters, and we are mobilising resources to undertake their relocation.
