Observar o Sol em múltiplos comprimentos de onda, significa usar diferentes tipos de telescópios e filtros. Pode ser um radiotelescópio como o single-dish do ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter Array), que observa o Sol em 100 e 230 GHz, equivalente a 3 e 1,3 mm.
