This article on private mints has relevance to the incentive models for bitcoin miners executing chain attacks. A 51% attack is like a private mint debasing its coinage. There is strong incentive to do so only if you unrealistically ignore the repetitional risk to their coin.

The true p2p protocol is not ledger based but network based. It eliminates all tokens between the person & the valuables. For example Toda/IP has no forced token, if you haven't heard of it yet is because it does not have a forced token so it does NOT enforce extraction layers.
